Ahh, I slept sooo good last night! New mattress (and all new pillows) for the win.

I got up and had my requisite two cups of coffee this morning (both with vanilla creamer). Then I felt like a Chocolate PB cup Green Monster this morning. In went the following
  • 1 Scoop ON Chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze
  • 4 cups baby spinach
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 big TB Adam's crunchy peanut butter
  • 1.5 cups of crushed ice
It was actually GREEN today!

I did some benchmarking tests for work and then dug into a pre-run snack around 9:30. A few cubes of pineapple and this:
My run today was just so-so, I didn't feel good about it and I don't know why. Times seem a little slow, but the first mile is mostly up hill (there's a slight descent only to climb another hill). I also kind of got lost (I went down a side road that wasn't marked DEAD END but was a dead end).
I did 100 crunches (standard and crossover).

Okay, I'm on a conference call so time to devote my full attention to this!

  1. Glad you slept well! I have runs like that too, but the important thing is that you got through it!

  2. funny how it takes some experimenting to get the right flavor and green in the same monster!

  3. ooooh that green monster sounds SUPER delicious :)

  4. haha! Did you write that while on the phone? and did you run 4 miles? Gosh, I am so not a runner. I wouldnt be feelin it either if I ran 4 miles. Props to you!

  5. Yeah for sleeping well - a good mattress makes all the difference in the world.

    Your green smoothie looks fantastic!

Not all runs can be great but at least you did it - yeah for that!

  6. Glad you got your new mattress. And new pillows! I need a new pillow, now that you mention it.

    Have a good day!! :)

  7. I love those Kashi bars. One of my favorites.

  8. I love the Kashi variety pack I got at Costco, it has the Peanut butter, Trail mix, and Honey Almond Flax. All of them are delicious.

It's funny how you don't realize how craptastic your mattress was until you get a new one. I'm going to give it another week and test my shoulder out next week to see if that was what was ailing me.
