Back in the Saddle Again....

So this afternoon was GREAT, I'd say my hamstrings are close to 90% now. I had a great workout and 4 hours later I still don't have any tightness in my hams. So today I did Day 2 of Gina's Summer Shape Up Week 3. My actual workout broke down as such:

Warmup: Run 6 minutes (approx .8 miles), 2 minute cooldown.
Dumbbell skull crusher on incline bench. 3x12 at 12.5lbs each
Push press standing. 3x12 @ 15lbs each
Pushups until failure (25 true pushups)
Cardio burst on treadmill. 45 seconds @ 6.5mph, 45 seconds at 8.5 mph x 2. 45 seconds @ 6.5mph, 45 seconds @ 9.0mph x2. 2 minute cooldown.

Elbows out extension on flat bench. 3x12 @ 12.5lbs dbs.
Cable crossover standing 3x12 @ 20lbs each side
Dumbbell frontal raise standing 3x12 @ 15lbs each side.
Cardio: Run on tread 2.26 miles in 18 minutes.
Cooldown for 5 minutes gradually decreasing speed.
Stretch my 'ish out real good (especially hams)
Crunches 3x12

After that I came home and took a shower and went with the hubby to his softball game. Now I'm just relaxing and trying to find something to watch on tv a bit. I'm looking forward to a run at lunch tomorrow, hopefully the weather holds.

So todays eats!

Lunch:

Wrap (Flat out wrap, MorningStar tomato basil pizza burger, 1tbsp Sabra's sundried tomato hummus (aka crack), broccoli slaw, baby spinach, red pepper, 1/4 avocado, 1/2 tomato).

Small amount of roasted potato leftover from the hubby (red potato, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, pepper) with a small amount of ketchup.

Bunch of red grapes.

Snack: Leftover tabbouleh salad (quinoa, tomato, cucumber, sauteed zucchini, mint, lemon juice, and cilantro - I followed KERF's recipe but accidentally put 1/4c of cilantro instead of 3/4c of spinach, it actually wasn't horrible lol). No pics of snack, I was on a conference call and just wanted to eat.

5 baby carrots dipped in crack hummus
Dinner:
Salad (romaine, tomato, red pepper, and more crack hummus instead of dressing). No pics of the salad sorry. :(
A serving of TJ's multi-grain roasted veggie lasagna. The lasagna was very good but could have used like 3x more veggies. It also took way longer than the package said to cook, so long in fact that I had to nuke it for 7 minutes (after being in the oven for 50) because we were running out of time before we had to leave for softball. No pics of it out of the oven, was in a hurry to eat.

So I'm off to veg in front of the tv for a bit, probably have a small serving of Dreyer's Light Neopolitan ice cream and maybe a few TJ's chocolate cat cookies.

  1. Lunch looks yummy! I'm totally with you on the Sabra hummus = crack... what other flavors have you tried?

  2. Elizabeth: I've only tried the sun dried tomato since that is what our local Costco carries! I have yet to find the Sabra's in my usual grocery store but I suspect I'd go through the little container in a day LOL. So the Costco sized tub will last a little longer. My husband really wants to try the spicy and the jalapeno flavors, so I've got my eye out for them!

  3. Sabra is the BEST hummus - and I've tasted a lot! My favorite is the one with pine nuts on the top. The roasted red pepper is good too. You are right about it being addictive!
